#127709 - a) and b)
Responding to: Ap Charles's previous message
Disconnecting the shield at one end of the cables.

There is the Faraday cage argument "connect in both ends" and there is the 'shiled NOT as a conductor argument'

My personal 'preference' and 'experience' is that the best is one of these:

a) connect the shield at one end only, have a (heavy if needed) ground wire inside to carry power and signal.

b) connect the shield to the case only in both ends, connect the shield to ground in one end onlyhave a (heavy if needed) ground wire inside to carry power and signal

I think Kai and I have crossed opinions, by not specifically referring to b)
