#134430 - modem is autobauding
Responding to: Dave Brooks's previous message
If this is a standard modem and is not set to some weird setting, it is autobauding on each line (using the 'a'/'A' character - see how well this character is suited for autobauding, it's no coincidence), so no particular baudrate has to be set.

And, if it is a standard modem, I recommend you to wire up all the handshake signals. Yes, including those "rarely used". You'll see how handy it comes to have a hardware line which tells you "I am here, ready and listening", "send no more data, I am busy", "somebody tries to call you", "data link already established" (in case you haven't recognized it, these were the DSR, CTS, RI and DCD signals, respectively).

0.02 of your currency... :-)
