But a slot antenna, if I have understood it properly, would mean, that the slot radiates itself, even without the signal trace running over the board, which does not seem to be the case here. Without the signal trace the radiation is negligible. Only when the signal trace is running over the slot and is driven by the 74HC00, the radiation is high. So, this would mean that actually a loop is formed by the signal trace and its ground return current over the (non-solid!) ground plane. What do you think? Joseph said:
