#160163 - How to test a comport ?
Hi Guys
I have an old PC that I want to use as a terminal for my 8051 system.
I want to use COM2
Windows states that the device is working properly.
But when a connect my 8051 (with the cable I use with my other PC)
there is no reply (There must be a logon message at reset)

Questions:
Are the connections OK
Is the Uart in the PC OK
How to determine wich pin is wich signal.
Can I use a scope or a DMM.
Wich testprogram to use.

All help will be greatly appreciated.

Have a nice day
Robert
