#166107 - What's wrong with gimme code? |
I'm aghast with the mentality of this forum at times. New members are set upon for their innocent inquisitiveness. Older members are discredited for their unwillingness to bow to Erik and Andy. It's well past time for some positive change.
I ask, what's wrong with requesting code examples in this forum? We have an astonishing network of knowledgeable and experienced 8052 enthusiasts, yet to attempt to leverage such a resource results in wails of disapproval! Why? I for one would be much happier if I could request all interested perspectives, before undertaking a coding task. I'd like then to be able to occasionally offer the results of my own experience to others, without the concomitant 8052.com negativity. I propose we replace the negative 'gimme code' message ranking, with an equally negative 'unjustifiably critical' message score. Perhaps then we could address some of the 'lives here' member's condemnatory outbursts, and permit less experienced members a deserving leg-up. Regards, Murray R. Van Luyn. |
