But these varieties of approaches can normally be transmitted as ideas instead of as code. By trading ideas, the receiver will have a better chance of understanding the idea than receiving code. If the OP is not interesting in understanding, then I think they should consider other ways and methods. It is most helpful and advantageous to the forum members if each individual member gets information that they understand, than if they get plug-and-pray information. Plug-and-pray means that they will either give up since it doesn't work, return back with a "it doesn't work - why?" or return back with more "gimme code".

Another thing: A post that describes an idea to the OP will most probably also describe that idea to a number of other forum members, so the total knowledge on the forum will grow.

I have a bit of a problem with people who sees web forums as a source of free labour or as a source of free private tutors. The interesting thing here is that the group of people who have this view is quite similar to the group of people who do post "gimme code". And this is normally also the same people who would not consider the reverse direction of sharing. If they receive 5 hours of help, they would normally not be interested in spending 5 hours helping someone else for free. After all, everyone can help with anything. Possibly just asking a neighbour if they need help shopping. The "gimme code" people tends to be very, very self-centered. And if they do not get the help they (for some strange reason) consider they have the right to, they tend to switch to complaints about "not fair", "I had too little time", "the professor is stupid", ...

Whenever you are ready to discuss concepts, I think you can select almost any forum, and you will find people who are ready to discuss and help. But switching to the specifics of "gimme code", you are basically saying "do my work for me - my own time is too valuable".
