#166122 - Easy to see which is school assignment
Responding to: Per Westermark's previous message
The "Gimmee code, I have done no preparation" is fairly easy to recognise. It is normally accompanied by "URGENT"

If the request is from a non-school source then I see no problem in giving a complete solution.

If I want to find out how to do something, I will google for the problem and read public code. I may then choose to adapt or re-write it for my own needs. After all this is what most engineering is all about. This is also a valuable lesson for a student to learn.

So the wise student shows that they have done some preparatory work, explains clearly the remaining difficulty, and gets a complete solution. As part of this process they have understood their assignment completely.

The less wise student shows her ignorance and lack of work. ( generally by writing in mobile-phone gobbledygook )

The clever devious student learns how to ask the right questions and "appear" to have done the preparatory work. But this is probably a very useful "life" skill.

David.
