Actually, those non-shielded cables are USB 1.1 cables. USB 1.1 devices are very rare nowadays, but those inferior 1.1 cables are still widely sold and many people are using them with 2.0 devices. For a normal user both cables are visually indistinguishable. The general user and seller attitude is that as long as it works it is the right cable! |
