#167744 - On or the other - not both
Responding to: Rahul Batra's previous message

gps transmits the data using TTL and RS 232 levels

No, it doesn't.

Any given interface can only work on one set of levels at a time: it must be either "TTL" or RS232 - it cannot be both at once!

and as far as i have studied serial communication also uses both... TTL and RS 232.

Again, any given interface can only be either one or the other - it cannot be both at once!

but if it doesnt do such thing....

No, it doesn't - see above!

than please tell me what should i do to rectify this problem....
well i dont want to destroy anything.....

That was Per's point: if you use a connector that looks like an RTS-232 port for your TTL-level signals then, one day, someone (possibly you in a moment of weakness and/or forgetfulness) will connect RS232 signals to it - and that most probably will destroy your TTL!
