#172633 - destroy?
Responding to: David Prentice's previous message
David Prentice said:
Most Atmel 8051 chips do NOT have a bootloader.

I would not formulate it like this, even if mathematically this might hold true.

The "original" Atmel AT89C5x, 'Cx051 and their newer 'S' and 'LP' equivalent's don't.
The '51 derivatives inherited from Temic mostly do (those of them which do have FLASH).

David Prentice said:
Even those Atmel chips that do have a factory bootloader can destroy the bootloader by ISP.

Destroy?

You can't really destroy the bootloader in the 'RD2/'ED2 through ISP.
I have no experience with the 'C5131 or the 'CC0x (CAN) lines.
