the output pins for push-pull mode) then you can use an appropriate external chip on these lines to convert the 3.3V swing of the MCU output to a 5V logic level. One chip family that can do this conversion for you is the 74AHCT series.
no need for the 'A' 74HCT does quite well.
also, I tend to recall that some SILabs chips have an internal LDO that allow 5V as the supply voltage, even if the chip runs at 3V3
