#174814 - I am new, Just somthing I wanted to do.
Responding to: Erik Malund's previous message
I am not very familiar with digital electronics. I have ordered pre-programmed micro controllers and using schematics assembled devices But I have never designed my own circuit or programmed my own chips. I am normally good at picking up new things so I figured this wouldn't be impossible as I come from a programming background.

as for the RST pin the datasheet for the microcontroller says

RST
Reset input. A high on this pin for two machine cycles while the oscillator is running resets the
device. This pin drives High for 98 oscillator periods after the Watchdog times out. The DISRTO bit in SFR AUXR (address 8EH) can be used to disable this feature. In the default state of bit DISRTO, the RESET HIGH out feature is enabled.

Many of the schematics I have found ignore this pin completely. Is it necessary to handle this? I assume "Reset" here means restarting the device?
