Others, and I, have indicated it makes more sense to use something up-to-date.
He hasn't yet indicated what is goals are. This might just be a mental-masturbation project, or it might be an attempt to learn something. When microcontrollers like the 805x became available, the tools were fiercely expensive and those of us who didn't want to develop on Intel hardware and software had to figure out another way. Maybe he wants to do that too ... perhaps it's not advisable ... but if that's what he wants, why discourage him? RE |
