#185305 - Assemblers often have different syntax
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Please quote which assembler you are using.

They all tend to accept the manufacturer's opcode mnemonics.

The pseudo-ops like EQU tend to vary between software vendors. e.g. .EQU or =

Likewise a semi-colon is very common for a comment.
An asterisk is not common for 8051.

Google is your friend. You can normally find your software's documentation.
OTOH, it is quite often already on your PC when you installed the assembler.

If you have no luck, I expect an old person will know every software eve produced.

David.
