The problem with the SiLabs watchdog apart from being enabled at reset is that it is also set for its shortest time. Had they chosen to set it to the largest time, you probably could disable or kick it at the start of main().

Btw. the SDCC typical startup code is also shown in the manual (online: http://sdcc.sourceforge.net/doc/sdccm...ode79.html )
