#188275 - It's common practice
Responding to: Mahmood Elnasser's previous message
What frequently happens is that a manufacturer of quality products is somewhat weakened by the buying public's proclivity to sacrifice 99% of the quality in order to save 1% of the price and is then taken over by a large manufacturer of lower-quality products. One example is the takeover of Maytag Appliances by Whirlpool. If you think about it you'll probably come up with a few examples of your own.
