#189882 - Parallel ports are easy to find...
Responding to: Michael Karas's previous message
Michael Karas said:
BTW, I purchased and use the Presto Programmer (http://tools.asix.net/prg_presto.htm) for use with AT89LP series devices and have been very happy with it. This device eliminates the problems of finding parallel ports on your work computers.

For me finding a system with "Windows XP/Vista/7/8" or any version of Windows with access to a USB port would be a much bigger problem - I don't have any. The only "bare metal" Windows system I have is the nice 10" Toshiba laptop (anno 1997) with Win98...

I run the Atmel tool in a VM on OS/2. Access from the VM to the physical serial and parallel ports works just fine.

And with the SS pin connected, programming works!
