#190110 - Silabs and ASM
Responding to: David Smith's previous message
David Smith said:
It doesn't have line numbers implicit in the source code window, yet happily refers to line numbers in its references. That's pretty frustrating.

I like line# tags in editor too, but the editor does have a line# in the status line, and for many tool chains, you can click on the error report line to go to editor line.
The IDE seems to lack to Goto Line #.

It is common to use a 'better editor', and use the IDE for just final debug.

The disassembler window just uses raw addresses - that's not what I would call a 'source-level' debugger. Probably easier if you use C most of the time and don't much care for the individual instructions, but it really isn't in ASM.

True, SiLabs old IDE is truly abysmal in the DisAsm window.

They have a new IDE in beta, but that is quite a jump, to eclipse.
