CS Sales has the EP-50 listed for $18.95, and a 750-experiment Elenco snap-together kit for $120, and several other similar kits, as advertised in June 2005 Nuts and Volts. (i might have misremembered Jameco, or maybe not, but they didn't have Elenco included in the their two ads in that issue.) you might just get the EP-50 and the 750-experiment one both, one as introductory.

Fry's doesn't have stores in Florida. i think Elenco has a link to online outlets, you could look for better prices at those and have the kits shipped to your sister's house ...
