That's a good point.

Unfortunately, all we (sic) have to go on is the text of the post. If it is evident from the post that the poster has no idea, it's impossible to distinguish whether that's
  • Because they haven't read the "bible" (or whatever), or
  • Because they've read, but just not understood.

    This is where the poster needs to make an effort - instead of saying, "I have read the 'bible' and the books and it is not there"
