#100738 - Thanks everyone
Responding to: Erik Malund's previous message
All your feedback is appreciated - thank you.

You are right - there are many contract manufacturers in New Zealand with excess capacity.

The problem we have with using contract manufacturers is that we have a very wide product range and our typical build is only 50-100 of any one type at a time.

Using contract manufacturers also cuts into our response time in that we can almost always turn around an order more quickly when its done in-house. If the investment is no more than say US$25K, then I think it would be a worthwhile effort. Besides - you know - I'm an engineer and I like challenges and playing with a pick and place machine would be fun. I think that the offical term is "vertical integration".
