#105052 - LVDT?
Responding to: Steve M. Taylor's previous message
Terry & Steve ,

I've a product using strain gauges to measure weight of fluid containers. My experience hasn't been entirely satisfactory using strain guages due to bias shift with temperature, though that may be due to the desire for an inexpensive load cell (catilevered beam with four guages, two in compression and two in tension and the use of guages (same part number) but which do not necessarily have identical temperature coefficients).

I am considering an LVDT attached to the same beam measuring vertical deflection of the beam relative to a fixed base or apparent length increase relative to the fixed end of the beam (that is, the trangle formed by the beam end as the beam is deflected vertically).

Any thoughts?

Bruce
