You should move here Competition is cut-throat!


But the idea is not new at all, it is commonly used in a simpler form. "Just ring me once when you'll arrive", for example.


It is an urban legend that it ever worked across exchanges - there is/was no sync between the ringing tones, even in the old days, because the tone was derived locally from a MOTOR driven oscillator !!

If you were on the same EXCHANGE, it DID work though, since the tones were generated from the same source
