#108542 - SILabs and emulator
Responding to: Neil Kurzman's previous message
Question: SiLab stuff just needs a JTAG dongle, or do you still need a real emulator?
The "JTAG dongle" in itself does not do much, but you do get a fair to meddling ICE equivalent that works throgh the dongle. There is, to the best of my knowledge no "real emulator" for any SILabs products, It would be tough to see one such when everyone get an "equivalent" for less than $100.

a note on the SILabs EC (the dongle)
If you buy the EC separately it cost just a few bucks less than a devboard that comes with the EC. Buying a devboard, you get cables as well. Basically, if you buy a devboard you get the devboard for free, dongle and cables will cost you just about the same and it will take you time to get them.

[edit]while the above is true for many SILabs derivatives, it is not true for the CAN versions. Buy e.g. a f005DK to play with some day in the future.
