I often ask myself what people do with these built-in ADCs. If you have a look at datasheet, then you will often see, that these ADCs are unprecise and slowly. Not so the ADUC series, of course, but most of the others.
I also need ADCs in many of my designs. But I need fast and precise ones, so I never would choose such a built-in low cost ADC. Also, a seperate ADC can highly simplify the layout, finally allowing me to get the precision that's promised in datasheet, at all.

So, a micro which contains everything like a swiss knife isn't actually an option for me.
