Hello all,

I'm looking for a good modern SMPS IC. Specs are +5V / 1-1.5A.
Adjustable is a pre but not a must. Preferably an SO-8 housing. Not smaller.

I'm currently using a Micrel (MIC4680) part which is getting old and expensive.

Since there's a lot to choose from I I was wondering what kind of SMPS IC / setup do the forum members are using.
