#176702 - Moving On

I also feel that a lot of older users of this forum have left simply because the task of polling is a lot of work. I always look back at the logs to see how people have evolved over the years and notice that some quite brilliant people just leave the forums altogether; not knowing why for any particular reason, except that the idea of a poll board leaves the board to be easily left behind.

There is another possibility. As a consultant I've seen a marked decrease in clients working with 8051s over the last five years. The vast majority of projects we work with now use 32-bit microcontrollers, such as ARM7, ARM Cortex, etc.
