#188150 - Isolators
Responding to: Oliver Sedlacek's previous message
I was already considering using an RS485 isolator on the electrical room side of the cable, so then anything 'bad' on that side can't go through the cable to the display.

I hadn't really thought about a DC-DC isolated regulator on the input supply, but I suppose it wouldn't be a bad thing to do either. I've used one in the past that was all in one package, but it was only good for 50 or 100mA (ie, not enough for this application). I may need a circuit board on that side anyways, so it would be relatively easy to add the isolation circuits to it.

Does anyone have any experience with a 12v to 12v isolated regulator that can handle ~750mA?

Thanks again for all the replies and ideas,
-Dave
