#188575 - I remember
Responding to: Richard Erlacher's previous message
I don't believe I've ever encountered degreed engineers any better than the brightest of those without degrees with whom I've worked along the way.
I remember being at a satelite office of the company I then worked at, seeing a problem and saying something like "I will have a solution to this soon after I get home". The next morning this guy (hired to, and doing, mundane work) haded me a diskette (yes it was those days) and said "this should do it" and it did. I immediaaely hired him to the home office and had him working for me till I left the company. He is now, withot a degree of any kind, a very succesful software engineer.
