#189004 - Trouble with PortMon - Windows serial port monitor
PortMon has been mentioned here before; eg, http://www.8052.com/forumchat/read/176710

The help says, "Simply execute the Portmon program file (Portmon.exe) and Portmon will immediately start capturing port output" - but it doesn't.

It just sits there with 'Not Connected' in the title bar.

I can't see any 'Connect' menu option or button.

It doesn't seem to make any difference whether I start PortMon first, or start the monitored application first.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm on a Toshiba WindowsXP-Pro+SP3 laptop (but have seen the same behaviour on a Client's Dell Desktop).
