#97910 - The thread
Responding to: Kai Klaas's previous message
Lets get this straight, the thread was not deleted, the thread was suspended, pending the return of the OP, since solutions which were being proposed and time wasted with no response. Mike's work was not lost into the aether, its still there, staring forlornly into cyberspace with a solution Juan has now ruled inadmissible.

Well right now Im looking in to a few options to get around ths problem. THe most prominent is usig a different material with smaller thickness to get more accurate (can't use metals because their electric conductors). The questions I had with the old thread are no longer relevant to the project.

If it was wrong to close the thread, which I dispute, its as "wrong" to throw a hissy fit and blackmail the moderators of the forum. Perhaps if Mike had actually asked in a reasonable way, the thread might have been reopened, as it was he said (and I quote " I demand that you re-open the thread immediately" , plus some other rather offensive comment.

Michael was the most talented member of this forum, the thinker, the brain, showing the highest level of professionalism and experience, he just was the head of this forum!

What a fine job you have done of immediately trivialising everyone elses. I won't deny I thought Mike made a stirling contribution, but we should always remember this little poem.

    Sometime when you're feeling important,
    Sometime when your ego's in bloom,
    Sometime when you take it for granted,
    You're the best qualified in the room.

    Sometime when you feel that your going,
    Would leave an unfillable hole,
    Just follow this simple instruction,
    And see how it humbles your soul.

    Take a bucket and fill it with water;
    Put your hand in it up to the wrist;
    Pull it out and the hole that's remaining,
    Is a measure of how you'll be missed.

    You may splash all you please when you enter;
    You can stir up the water galore;
    But stop, and you'll find in a minute,
    That it looks quite the same as before.

    The moral in this quaint example,
    Is do the best that you can.
    Be proud of yourself, but remember,
    There's no indispensable man!

We now have a protocol for handling topics started in threads closed for non-responsive OPs, so lets get back to business.
