Overview
Analog Devices contracted me as an independent consultant to modify and enchance my
8052 Simulator application to fully simulate new microcontrollers that they were in
the process of developing and promoting. The modified Simulator is being included
in Analog Devices' Software Development Kit which is sold to customers which are
interested in taking advantage of the new microcontroller's special features.
Approach
- Identified additional features supported by the ADuC812 that were not already simulated by the 8052 Simulator.
- Added support for ADuC812's analog/digital conversion features.
- Added support for ADuC812's digital/digital conversion features.
- Added support for ADuC812's data EEPROM memory.
- Added support for ADuC812's I2C and SPI serial communication features.
- Added support for ADuC812's watchdog feature.
- Created additional windows within the 8052 Simulator to display the newly simulated features.
Technology
- 8052 Simulator application was written in Visual Basic as were all modifications required by Analog Devices.
Craig Steiner's Role
- Sole designer and developer of 8052 Simulator and all modifications requested by Analog Devices.
